Wild Ouseburn Celebration

We have quite a week ahead as our friends at Wild Intrigue celebrate the 1st anniversary of their much-loved project, Wild Ouseburn. During the last twelve months they have set out to explore, document and celebrate the species present within the Valley. Offering unique insights and encouraging engagement from us as a local community with the urban wilds that surround us.

Just some of the habitats spotted include; kestrels, kingfishers, otters, and mute swans who raise their families along the river through Ouseburn. What else have you spotted in the Valley?

We are delighted to take part in this week long celebration with a film screening right here at Toffee Factory on Thursday at 1pm.

Why Not Scotland? follows a young Scot who seeks out examples of nature recovery in Europe after concerns of the state of nature and fears of an uncertain future. She is encouraged to see signs of nature making a comeback around Europe and wonders, Why Not Scotland? As you watch, you may think, Why Not Ouseburn?

This is your chance for some wild inspiration over lunch and with our weekly street food pop-up, Ouseturn – it really is the perfect escape.
